Panoramic shot of massive storm in Istria by Maja Kraljik

Panoramic shot and one element of an extensive storm system

This cloud was the remnant of a supercell in Italy, born near Treviso that weakened as it headed for the Istrian coast. The storm formed into a shelf cloud with inflow tails just before the coast.

The most vigorous blow was between Umag and Novigrad. After the storm appeared, I tried to catch up by moving towards Novigrad but failed. On the way home, I was followed by a strong downburst with a little hail and the streets were flooded in very quickly. The best part was that it was just before sunset, so the colours were amazing 🙂
