Supercell in Leoti. One of the most photogenic storms ever

The storm system was born in convergence on the dry line, lasting until the evening hours and giving a magnificent sunset and some spectacular lightning strikes at dusk.

In its evolution we have witnessed two tornado touchdowns, both of short duration under the base of a voluminous rapidly rotating mesocyclone not far from the small town of Leoti, Kansas.

Each regeneration phase was characterized by an increase in rotation in the medium levels, sculpting the mesocyclone even at high altitudes. The small town of Leoti was spared from the most intense sector of the storm.

The storm system lasted until the evening hours and gave us a magnificent sunset. At dusk, when the supercell acquired the appearance of an LP (low precipitation), we still photographed some spectacular lightning bolts.
